  Need help understanding the Overlapping Generation teaching

  so this is a topic that seriously boggles my mind and please correct me if i'm wrong.

  to me, the jw definition of the overlapping generation teaching is that the lives of the anointed from 1914 overlap with the lives of the anointed right now.

  david splane used the example of fred franz and how he finished his "earthly course" in 1992 but while he did, he had a lot of "contemporaries" that outlived him and are currently living today.

  JW Rumor: End of the Traveling Overseer

  a friend of mine has contacts to a family with several circuit overseers and special pioneers.

  they have good connections to bethel.. he told me that the latest rumor from bethel states that the cos should be abolished in their present form.

  they have also recently begun to take cos back to bethel.. over the same channel i have already heard of the car fleet program and that the dos should be abolished.. has anyone else already heard of it?

  Virtually all of the school aged kids in my hall were/are homeschooled. Most of them have no social skills and would not last a day “in the world”. Maybe that is the point, to keep them dependent on the borg.

  Ever bump in to a JW acquaintance at the gym?

  this has happened to me on 4 occasions.

  3 times it was an elder and i simply pretended i didn't know him and avoided eye contact.

  the other time was someone of my age that didn't really talk to me of the opposite sex.

  The "circle" of the earth

  a fair bit of time was spent discussing the (one) scripture in the bible that "proves" that when the bible touches on scientific subjects, it is absolutely correct.

  this was at the most recent clam meeting this past week.

  from isaiah, the reference to the "circle" of the earth.

  Will YOU Ever Leave The Watchtower Org.?

  there is usually a metamorphosis that takes place for a person to leave the jehovah's witness religion.

  most people do not just up and go simply because they realize this could not be the truth.

  it often takes time.. for those that go to meetings or engage in the ministry, will you forever continue doing these things, knowing that it is all bs?

  I have been mentally out since 2010. I still go to the occasional meeting/convention with my wife and son. Even that is dying off.

  Anyone go on a cruise?

  just finished a 7-day cruise from nyc on norwegian cruise line (ncl- gem).

  this is my first cruise in 30 years, so my past experience does not count.. overall, a great experience.

  ncl does a great job.

  I have been on three. The best one was in 2006. It was a 7-day southern Caribbean cruise. I absolutely loved it.

  mine was seeing a greenhouse with mannequins inside.

  I have two.

  When I was a teenager, I was working with a group of brothers. In order to cover the territory quicker, we went to the doors by individually. I walked up to this one door, rang the bell and this very attractive woman wearing just a bathrobe and a smile answers the door. I go through my presentation and still smiling, takes the magazines and thanks me. That just made my day.

  One time, I got my Social Studies teacher at the door.
